TV Help
I have a £500-600 budget. I have an old 42inch lcd lg telly which aint too bad BUT- Went round to a mates yesterday and saw a 65inch led monster. Expecting it to be ridiculous but the longer i watched the more i was impressed. The detail was quite a leap from what i have.
Now-do I go for a bigger panel OR 4K resolution of similar size. Dont really need smart stuff-just after a good image with bluray movies/dont watch much telly and only use freeview.
Advice please!!!

Youve seen my 60" last time you were over, you'll be surprised how quick you get used to the size, so yeah, bigger is better.
Personally I wouldnt go 4K and youd be pushed to get one at your budget anyways.
Its good to have the higher resolution for bigger displays like projectors, but anything 60 or below...naa.
Best advice is look at Richer Sounds website....the go-to place when your after a new telly.

Will do Brian. Was hoping somebody could advise me whether 4K was worth the money performance wise. I can get 40 inch panels in my budget to be honest that would do me size wise (or maybe a cheeky 48!!!)

My son recently got a 60"( Bush?) from Argos. its huge but have to say the picture is very good for that size. was quite cheap too.

I don't think there's a lot of 4K programmes transmitted at the moment mate so may be a waste of money just now .

wasnt sure if the 4k sets did some upscaling malarkey!!! I only use cooncil telly and bluray so might just go BFO.( big fuck off).

If I was just using Freeview I would spend some money on making sure I had the very best signal ( ie good aeriel positioned properly etc. ) I'm fairly sure you will reap benefits from this .
