Default Japanese Crysler Vintage Compression Driver Cellular Horn Midrange Units

Very reluctantly selling my beautiful vintage Japanese Crysler cellular horn midrange drivers, They are 8 ohm speakers and I believe date from the late sixties. They sound superb, but I have too much gear and as I'm not using these at the moment they are for sale. The horns are alloy and the mouth measures approx 95mm x 270mm and the screw on compression drivers have 20mm throats. In perfect working order, they have minor signs of use/age, but are pretty decent and are lovely quality items (I think they look fantastic). I'd guess the working range as being around 1200Hz to maybe 7kHz, efficiency is high! You will never see another pair for sale, they are very, very rare.

Asking £150 + carriage (UK only)

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Yeah. Wish I could keep them, but I've reached storage saturation point. More bits to follow.

How did you use these Wal?
Did you have a separate tweeter and then bass unit?
What sort of cabinet do they suit?

I've used them in a couple of configurations, but never in a permanent setup. Too busy playing with Tannoys as a rule. Yes they work with a tweeter and bass driver, via a three way crossover. They do not actually need to be in cabinets. I'm thinking of withdrawing them from sale actually, they are irreplaceable.

These might be of interest to Andy (BTH K10A). I would suggest you PM him, but he has chosen not to receive PMs!

Your asking price is very reasonable - good luck with the sale.
