    You're out in the wilds, what does legally have to do with it.

    I'm a city boy but I reason it like this: Sheep belongs to farmer. Farmers are generally short red faced men who are always angry. They also have shotguns.

    Rather than killing the sheep I would make sure no harm comes to it whilst it is on your property. If it so much as grazes a hoof the farmer will be after you.
