Thanks marco, I made loads of mistakes with guitar gear when I was younger, too swayed by magazines and band endorsements and people telling me " this is the only way to do it and if you do anythigng differnt your an idiot." and ended up buying stuff that In the end really never connected to.

Then I worked in a Guitar shop and ended up loving playing guitars i'd always written off ( probably as not METAL enough ) and the spikey metal guitars i'd always loved left me cold.
My Ibanez RG470 was replaced with a second hand £40 squire strat that I loved and had for years.

I think thats why im trying not to write anything audio off untill i've hear it for myself

I've not posted all that much for a while but happily lurking, still the best audio forum around. just though id post this, its tatty ( and frankly smells a bit funky ) but it was at the local auction and i though id try to get it, needs a damn good clean, the pots etc, but ive run it and its Head and shoulders better then the Technics amp Im mostly using, kind wish it was black though as it would be easier to hide some of the scrathes and marks... I really shouldnt complain for £3.50 though.

    That looks alright John.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Black "Sharpie" felt pen is great for touching up black gear nicks /marks.

That what i'd like to do Danilo but this is.... Bronzeish I guess? .. I think Rotel probably would have called it bronze, I think its closer to brown though, the casework is wrapped in some kind of plastic wrap, it looks like the same stuff on my dad's old Morris ital roof
