    Default Technics 615 resurrected

    HELLO MEMBERS

Decide 2 have a go at getting this cassette player working so had a play and a tinker inside with the mains disconnected

Found out the the problem was solidified grease on the cassette transport ( the play lever would not go down ) A quick clean of the transport and all was freed up , It will need new belts as 2 of the 3 inside are somewhat slack , The belt kit is on order from Germany and will be fitted when it arrives , will also clean the heads

I just love the action of the cassette door and the way the tape is loaded and ejected AWSOM Also the huge VU meters

All is well at the moment and I have so far listened 2

Elton John ( Greatest Hits )
    Sade ( Diamond Life )

    on the play list is
    Paul Young
    Michael Jackson
    Brian Ferry
    The Boomtown Rats
Van McCoy & The Soul City Symphony

    I have lots of cassettes

2 moody lowlight images for you

Oooo- very nice. I had one of those back in the late 70s. The cassette door mechanism is great. Brings back great memories.

Looks a nice bit of kit Al.
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”
