    I'm Adam.

    Smile Hi all vintage fans!

My name is Adam and I reside in North Somerset. I am passionate about vintage kit, particularly amps.

This does not mean I ignore modern equipment, as I use digital sources a lot when I listen to music, but as an electronics engineer I prefer to modify, repair and refurbish the classics!

My new vintage hifi website has just gone live, but is in it's infancy. There is a lot to be added yet, but check it out and let me know what you think. www.revamphifi.com

I am currently in the process of refurbishing a number of amps, which will be available to purchase through the website in due course.

I am currently using a Marantz SA8005 as my source, through a 1972 Sony TA-1140 amplifier. My old but excellent Mordaunt Short MS-206 speakers complete the setup. I realise this may not be considered 'hi-end' by many of you, but the sound is fantastic!

I would love to hear from anyone with experiences of vintage amps/receivers, good or bad!

    Hi Adam. Welcome to AOS.

Don't worry about the status of your kit. We're definitely not all 'high end' here. Anything goes and is appreciated.

Sounds like you may end up needing a trade account here if you decide to do business through AOS. You can arrange that with Marco the site owner as and when.

Vintage gear is very popular with our members, me included.

I'm sure you'll find plenty to interest you.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Thanks Geoff.

Be assured that I am not worried about the status of my kit, if it sounds good, it is good! I am very proud of the gear I refurbish.

I will look into the trade account thing when I get a minute. Now I need to get back to that pile of amps waiting for my attention!!!

    Hi Adam,

    Welcome to AoS

If you wish to promote your business here (in any way) then you will need to open a trade account now. If you're simply here as Adam the hi-fi and music enthusiast, then that's a different matter.

Let me know how you wish to proceed

    Marco.
