Default Choice of PVA for cleaning records

I know the pros/cons of the PVA merthod have been debated elsewhere, so I,m not trying to resurrect that donut (sorry, chestnut)

What I"d like to know is whether there are any clear good or bad choices of PVA to use for record cleaning, based on real experience of people who use this method.

Specifically, has anyone experience of using actual PVA like this:

as opposed to specific WOOD glue like this:

PVA in it's pure form is an admixture which can be used for a whole range of applications, whereas wood-glue is a speciically forumalted PVA based adhesive -there is a slight difference, and I'm curious whether anyone has found a difference?

I wouldn't use PVA of any sort on my precious records. Who knows what the chemicals will do to the vinyl and it doesn't remove anything more than surface fluff and dirt anyway.

I have only used slightly thinned normal PVA woodglue. I have loads of the stuff around all the time so it made sense to try it. It worked OK but no better than a good scrubbing with washing up liquid and a rinse

Yes Grant, Re-virginizer is well spoken of on the grapevine, but £27 for half a litre ....
For that kind of money I would expect it to...well...literally restore virginity..

"Revirginizer is poured directly onto the surface...then massaged into the surface and left to set, this can take between 4-12 hours depending on relative humidity of the room. Once set peeling is easy....."

Gosh, imagine the size of TT you'd need....
