+1... Same here Gaz... I have a single piece MDF floor in my listening room and any heavy movement causes my deck to skip, so I'd murder to have something as firm as you have... so if yours ain't broke, don't fix it and spend the money on something nice and shiny

    Feel a pattern emerging...

Read up a bit more elsewhere online and stone floor seems to be a "good thing", wall shelves more to alleviate problems from suspended floors etc.
Hmnn..reckon I've maybe crossed another thing off my OCD list.

Thanks guys for your input, really helpful.

A dedicated stand might be a good idea

    What's the wall made of?

You won't be getting anything coming up from the floor at the moment but those great big glass shelves in your rack could be picking up airborne feedback, which a much smaller wall shelf is less likely to do. If the wall is solid, go for it. If it's a stud wall, the wall itself will pick up acoustic energy and feed it into the shelf, whicjh would probably be worse than what you have now.

    its a concrete wall.
Yeah...suspended decks benefit the most I guess.

Not sure if airborne vibrations into the rack might be a massive issue?
Have this stuff under the deck...

As always though, with audio you never can tell.

Me old Mucker Brian was over for a visit today to hear the new preamp and a catchup, and we were playing some vinyl.

We didn't hear anything of concern a wall shelf might fix, scale, depth, impact, emotion and boogie all there in spades.
I'll be leaving the wall shelf, the decks doing the business as is.

Less hassle as is and looks better in the room too.

    Thanks guys for the feedback.

When I saw the demo of Sound Steel products at Scalford last year, he used an accelerometer phone app to demonstrate the effectiveness of his isolation. Something like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=com.a10&hl=en I can't remember which one I have (my phone isn't to hand at the moment), but sensitivity is adjustable. Load one, place your phone on the table and try jumping up and down with the stylus on a record. Obviously not jumping ON the record! Then try the same with music playing loud, and place it on the deck and knock the table, etc, etc.
Costs nothing and is fun to watch all the wiggly lines. You may be able to hold or tape your phone against the wall and try that.
