I feel a speaker project coming on. Not done one for years, but I've got so many bits, it's time I tried using some.

There are boxes of tweeters and crossover parts, a nice old pair of 10" KLH bass units on the shelf, along with various 8"and 6.5" drivers, at least twelve pairs of interesting full range units. Two spare 10" Tannoy dual concentrics and four KEF BD139 ABR's, plus loads of other bits.

Thing is, where the hell do I start?

Geoff can you knock us up a three-way with twin KLH 10'' bass units, full ranger for the mid/top and a super-tweeter? Say in 100 litre sealed cab? I'll drop round and pick them up in a week or so.

    Cheers

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

HaHa. You've read my mind Martin. That's almost exactly what I had in mind for the KLH units! Including the sealed box.

The mid/top being provided by these very nice sounding vintage Japanese five inch twin cone drivers:

Both they and the KLH units have 'everlasting' doped cloth cone surrounds.

The crossover in mind is a first order job at 630 Hz.

The whole lot will present a straightforward 8 ohm load.

A supertweeter will be considered, if necessary.
