Finally. One Corelli crossover re-capped (sort of). There one old 0.6uF Alcap left. Can't find that value at a sensible price and I'm not forking out £40 for a pair of 'fancy' ones. I've a batch of 0.56uF poly's coming from China. I'll measure them and use the highest valued from the bunch. 0.56 is within tolerance anyway.

Wasn't well enough during the week to do anything at all, but I'm getting back on form now (I think ).

I'll do the other crossover later, give the cabs a final polish and re-install the drivers. When the 0.56uF caps arrive, I'll have the crossovers out again and fit those and look at maybe 'upgrading' the internal wiring. All the caps have been given a small blob of clear silicone sealant underneath to stop any buzzing against the PCB. The PCB will be given a support pad underneath at the centre. It's just held in place by the four corners at the moment.

(still getting crap resolution from this Lumix DMC-LF1 camera. It's set at 12.1mp (fine) and on macro)

Alcaps are a perfectly decent and reasonably priced option.

Just won these stands for a tenner from ebay. Perfect for the Corellis at 24" tall and local too.

Can't fault that. Got the little pads on top too.

Looks like you can fill the columns with sand, hard to tell but they appear to be open at the top?

    Probably.

I've never used sand in stands though. I opt for decorative shingle or graded stone as a rule. The stone pieces interlock mechanically rendering whatever they are contained in pretty inert.
