I should have kept the Stereo 20 in the second picture. It was a good one. I'd replaced the caps, put a base on that matched the metalwork and fitted a mains switch on the front. It sounded very nice.

Hmm. I now have seven pre-amps. Some serious evaluation is going to be needed, to decide what stays and what goes.

The line up is: A tiny FX Audio valve pre-amp from China, a Little Bear passive, a VTL Deluxe valve pre-amp (amazing phono stage), a Tisbury Audio passive, a Moth Series 30 solid state pre-amp (very nice sounding), a Promitheus TVC and lastly a MingDa MC-9 TVC (the TVC's are going nowhere ).

Each will of course need to be tried with each of my power amps. Which are: Quad 306 (very sweet), Monarchy Audio SM-70, Monarchy Audio SM-70 Pro and finally, a pair of Modern Classic Tubes EL34 valve monos.

    Could be a busy evening.

Also got one of these gorgeous Japanese integrateds in the collection. Sounds amazing! The MC input sounds as good as my Sugden phono stage.
