Yes, I know the top has been slightly depressed, I'll soon sort that.

This should be interesting. The P60 is reputed to sound very good.
The Cambridge P60 is here. And sounding very good through headphones.

Appears to be a low use amp, little sign of wear and tear. All controls quiet apart from the volume pot which crackled very slightly until I worked it back and forth a few times. Got to make up a set of DIN to banana speaker lead adaptors yet before I can connect speakers. What I did notice was the quick warm up, it sounded a bit thick and two dimensional to start with, but opened right up after five minutes.

I'll sort speakers out and bung another photo on tomorrow. Seems a nice amp.

I find it remarkable that a pair of comparatively inexpensive old speakers can turn out this kind of sound quality.

The Corellis do have a reputation as being a bit of a 'sleeper' and being familiar with all the old 'C' and 'Reference' ranges of KEF's, I'd say that's correct. The imaging and mid lucidity are similar to the LS3/5a, but there's actually some effective and solid bass too.

    Interesting review here: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/bas/0908/
Interesting, I've never heard anyone say before that the kef reference range was for those who play their music loud, while the C range was for those who want better sound!

Blimey. Got the P60 wired to the speakers about fifteen minutes ago. This is a good sounding amp and as with the headphones earlier, it's opening up as it warms. Bass is there, even and clear mid and a very clean top end. Bit of a bargain.

Eight sets of amplification now (not including an unfinished Tripath item). Do I need that many?

Cambridge P60 in its new home. Driving the Corellis at the moment and seems very well matched to them. It's very good on vocals, clean and free of grain. Certainly transparent too. Channel separation seems very pronounced.

Could this forty year old ebay amp be all that one needs ? I can't fault the sound at the moment. Was playing some June Tabor and now on some Shpongle.
