It was only a matter of time before this occurred, just like specific sites for garrard 301 /401 decks.

All the Vintage Hifi stuff is just going up and up, just like vintage cars, its gone past "its old junk phase" so it has now become very profitable for companies to specialise in specific/paticular brands and models from the golden era' as some would put it.

Even in the '70s there were small ads in the back of magazines such as the Gramophone and Hi Fi News (& Record Review) offering cash and collection of vintage audio gear, regardless of condition: Quad; Leak; Radford; Lowther; Tannoy; Thorens; Garrard; Ortofon; Decca, etc.

    Nothing has changed!

Yes indeed there were. I was selling old Leak and suchlike to dealers over 20 years ago. They were always advertising for the usual classic gear, Naim and Linn as well in many cases.

It is true that you are unlikey to get the market value if you sell to such people. But you do get a simple, quick transaction, money in your hand and no being messed about by tyre kickers and such like. In the past 12 months I have had two different people say they were coming to collect speakers. Neither turned up and neither bothered let me know that they had changed their minds. This way you save all of that sort of aggravation.
    Current Lash Up:
