Excellent album and it was out of this line up of Santana that Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon came, who formed Journey also Michael Shrieve, a wonderful drummer, his album Stiletto gets played here a lot.

Anyone interested in guitar based prog would do well to listen to Journeys first three albums, a very different matter to the later more AOR output.

Good choice Barry 8 out of 10

I haven't listened to any Santana since the late 70's and although some of the tracks were good, I won't be rushing out to add any to my shelves all a little dated and some tracks even reminded me of bad "B" movie soundtracks I'll give it a 5

Listened last night and felt like I was in a time warp tbh. I guess my listening preferences have moved on with age.
Thats not to say I didnt enjoy Carlos' axe work coz I did. A madter at work but as Tom says a bit dated and wont be heading my way. 6.5/10....7 for the vote

Well I've given this long enough , its grown on me but it took a long time , goes without saying excellent guitar playing and some sublime tracks.
Only 7/10 though because I wouldn't buy it and maybe not to it listen again but I certainly know what Carlos is all about now.

Thanks for the comments Guys. In general you seem to have liked it.

I'm going to give it 9/10 as it's very good (well I did choose it ), but not perfect enough for a 10!

Was going to nominate one but I mean, what if they say I'ts no good? What if they say, "Get out of here, kid! You've got no taste" I mean, I just don't think I can take that kind of rejection.

Don't be too sensitive Grant. The Album Club rota will come to the end with next month's choice. So a call will be put out for new contributers. Care to be one of them Grant?
