Yesterday I set up my Pi3 and iqaudio dac pro.

The software is volumio. The sound is not that good at all. No bass, no highs, no stereo image. Mids are ok. Configured it very carefully and chose the iqaudio dac+ on the settings.

    Is there anything missing?
Have you been into ALSAMIXER to increase the volume of the IQaudio DAC card?... there's a PDF describing the process on the IQaudio site

It's towards the end of this document...

You'll need 'Putty' to SSH into your Pi...

    Hi Everyone

I'm still using this setup fo my digital files from a hdd, currently with a Raspberry Pi 3 and a IQaudIO Hat.
I wondered if I'm still in the loop with digital playback or am I years behind ?

Is there any better way to go nowadays ? I still want to be able to play my files from the hdd and controlled by a phone/tablet app

Look forward to any of your suggestions

    Thanks

    Hi Terry
I use the RPi4B that's built into my Okto DAC8 Stereo.
You don't mention what Player software you are using, I use MoOde.
If you turn on UPnP in your audio settings you can use the Bubble UPnP app on an Android Phone/tablet.
With this, I can not only access my NAS storage, or any other device on my home network, it also allows me to access my streaming service (Qobuz).
With Qobuz via the Bubble app, I can play my favourites, search/play their library or new releases and save any choices to my favourites.
The App works with any Android Phone/Tablet. It's just a search and control device, so doesn't play the music on the phone, it just tells MoOde on the RPi which tracks to grab and play, either across the local network or via my internet streaming service.
I'm very happy with the set up.

    Hi Gordon
Although I’m not running your Pi-DAC HAT, I am running your Amp HAT on a 2 Gb Pi4. Moode software.
It’s serving a pair of Castle Severn 2s in my second system with 35w on tap.
Quite frankly, SQ wise it’s sounding so far above what I would have expected at it’s price point.
As a matter of interest, could I mount the Amp HAT on top of your DAC board, thereby circumnavigating the Amp HAT’s on board DAC??
