    Just get an old Teleton amp for twenty quid and use the socket on that. Sounds just fine.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    No. You'll spend a small fortune on 'designer' DIN plugs for it!

    I don't like to use the headphone socket on amplifiers... but I'm sure the Teleton would sound just fine

    Seriously though although I'm not saying there are no audible difference between say plugging the phones into a laptop or using a high end head phone amp I would not sat the difference was large or of any real consequence...

    Currently using a Denon PMA-350 SE for headphone driving duties. Good solid amps these!

    Just a wee little bump.

    Got a Meridian 206B here on my headphone rig. It's been 5 years since having one of these. My god, these old machines sound very open. This is no laid back CD Player!

    Yes. They are good, I've had a couple (including your last one ). The Pioneer PD-S505 Precision is every bit as nice though.
