    Default Atc sia2-150

My next integrated coming this month, is going to be an mk1 ATC SIA2-150.

ATC amps carry a high reputation for good damping factor and power. They employ some fairly big chunky transformers as well. Well think about, they can drive ATC speakers after all!

Congrats Shane, that is a good, ballsy amp. I had one quite a few years ago driving a pair of ATCs, good stuff! Enjoy!

I'm going to simplify my bedroom Hi-Fi system.

I've sold the Neat speakers to help my mother's finances, and will be reverting back to my good JPW's.

The Roksan might possibly go up for sale soon. Which is going to be a slightly hard decision!

I used to own the Jap Crap Denon PMA-350se and remember how decent that amp sounded. I'm thinking about getting another one, and to also revisit its lovely simplicity and sound.

The Denon, will certainly not give me that ''iron fist'' bass of the Roksan though!

Had a brief listen to the Denon PMA-250se.

First impressions: It sounds good for its price class. TBH, there is nothing overly special about this amp. It does what it says on the tin.

    Nothing more, noting less!

Is it an original or a mark 2 or 3? The UKSE was the one I had and it is still one of the best amps I ever owned. A bit lean -I know Geoff said 'gutless' but that's a bit of an exaggeration I think. Cd with the Cd direct engaged (of course) was lovely.

Mine developed a fault - intermittent cut out on one channel - i.e the worst fault any amp can ever have. I couldn't get anyone to look at it but a pal had it off me and got it fixed. He used it with a NAD CD player and some little Wilmslow Audio standmounts and again it sounded mint. But he was burgled and it was stolen. Probably still out there somewhere.

I bought a brand new MK2 expecting it to be even better but it was blander than shepherd's pie.
