    Smile Hi, there

My name is Dan...but you can call me Celt if you want. I'm in my late 50's and have been collecting records, many which I still have, since I was four or five. I'm active over at Audio Karma and hope to participate here as well.
Now, I'm going to mull around a bit and get myself familiar with the place.

Hi, welcome. What sort of kit do you use?

We like pics of kit, and to know what kind of sounds you like listening to.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

My system, like me, is rather simple...
    It's a Dual 506 TT with an AT140LC cartridge....an ART phono preamp...a Tripath based Topping TP-60 amplifier,
a Teac CD-H70 CD/USB player and home brew 8" two way acoustic suspension speakers.

I like all sorts of music. I love Jazz (Coltrane, Davis, Brubeck, etc.) as well as most classic rock.
I have an affinity for progressive country...Lucinda Williams, Rosanne Cash, Steve Earle.
And when the mood strikes....classical music....not into opera with the exception of La Boheme.

Cool. Pretty much as simple as it gets. Simple is good, best SQ.
