Currently drinking Bolivian Colonia Illimani beans brewed in an Aeropress.

The beans are from Redroaster Coffee Company in Brighton. They ask you when you buy the coffee, what type of machine you are using, and they then grind to suit. They even publish the date that they roasted the beans (22nd February 2015 in this case) Great service!

Get yourself a hand grinder Graeme (Zassenhaus) from eBay and enjoy that just ground fresh taste all the time, perfect with an Aeropress

Nice bean that too, I also prefer a South American Arabica . . . .happy days, I'm off to grind and press right now!

    Cafetiere ground.

Interested in trying something different, how does using a grinder/ Aerospress compare to the Cafetiere for a good cuppa?

I was given a free coffee in London the other day for some The Economist promotion. Apparently they were using those beans which have been passed through the body of a monkey.. It must have been mis-information because it tasted like any other to me and not that great.

I also went into a coffee shop in East London recently who have a roastery attached, near Brick Lane. £8.50 for a bag of beans and proclaiming that they've been washed.. ? Is that unusual? What's it about? I err.... bought some! haha Why not.

Tell you what though, in just a french press, they have a lot more flavour and are a lot less bitter than the normal supermarket coffee I buy. Even was a different colour: the froth (not really crema) was a lot lighter in colour and the coffee more like a very dark brown rather than so black. Perhaps it was just roasted for slow brewing (as stated) rather than so many in the supermarket geared towards dark espresso. Not sure how often I want to pay that much but good for the occassional retail therapy.
