I have made contact with a guy doing a house clearance. He has many classic speakers and other components for sale. I can't try any out, but I am keen to 'save' a few choice items as they will end up in a clearance auction and no doubt go for buttons. From what I've been told, the following items are available:
Speakers:
Mordant Short Pageant
B&W DM4
Wharfedale Linton
Goodmans Acromat
Upward ? Firing Sansui
Goldring Lenco turntables
Leak tonearm and transformer
Decca London tonearm
Rogers integrated amp
All dates back to 1970s
Any advice would be most welcome as I would need to get back to him in the next day.
Cheers,
TD
If you've got the space to store it then have the lot, it will all sell on no problem if you decide to get rid. I once turned down a whole room full of Garrard and Goldring TTs (about 30 of them - lots of GL75s) thinking I didn't have space to store them and no-one would want them - that was 15 years ago and GL75s now fetching about £100 each
Current Lash Up:
TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

I've not seen a Quad II quite like this before. The Redifusion spec must have been slightly different.
It would be a good find for a Quad collector though.

Thanks guys,
I couldn't take the lot, but did pick up a few nice items (missed a fully working Cambridge Audio CD1, that went last week though!!!!). I have yet to try most of my acquisitions out, but that will give me hours of fun, I reckon. They are a mixed gag, however:
Celestion Ditton 22
B&W DM4 (really like these)
M&S Pageant Series 2
Sansui SL5 and SL7
Goodmans 300 and 301 drivers
Goodmans Trebax units
Label missing - thought Altec - 15" drivers
Stentorian 15" driver
Unknown very early 15" to 16" driver - very heavy with what looks like space for a treble unit through the centre of magnet assembly and cone- early dual concentric? - can supply photos if of interest.
Leak Stereo 30 plus
Leak Stereo 70
Sugden A48
Dynaco pre-amp
Technics SL1900
Philips CD100 (original)
That's all I could fit in my car. I'd appreciate any comments/advice about which might be worth trying out first.
Now I will have to see if I can seek out second Goodmans 300, 301 and Stentorian units!
Cheers,
TD
Sitting here listening to a Trio KA 2002A amp that been tweaked a little, bass is suprisingly good, i like loudness buttons
