I love all these superb pics... great quality..

If I wanted a camera (digital) that took excellent pics, especially close-up (for a forthcoming venture!), and I didn't want to spend a fortune can anyone suggest a good one to me ?

I used to be well into photography, I used to process my own films and prints many moons ago, and I still have a Nikon FE2 but only ever owned a cheap digital camera

I have no problem buying used either

    Thanks for any help..
    Bev

Getting very nice results from a Nikon P7100.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Thanks for that Geoff... does it have a flash built in ?.. I know the built in flashes aren't normally up to much but just occasionally it's handy

Yes it has flash, that works well. Check out the review (there are sample photos there). It's a pleasant camera to use and the results are very good. Nice Nikon lens and decent sensor.

I had a Canon G9 before this and like the Nikon much more.

No, photography is not my day job, if only, I'm just a keen hobbyist.

Wow....i thought you done that for a living, lovely pics.

Nice bokeh King, very nice indeed.

As regard to the camera purchase Q's above, i was led to believe Nikon makes the best glass whereas Canon handles better,
for some reason Canon has never caught up with Nikon on the lens front.
