Risking the wrath of other SLIC threads I have my own little take on the SLIC-P interconnect. I have a one metre and a half-metre to connect my SUT/phono amp to my Technics SL1200/SME V. SLIC-P uses the KLE harmony RCA plugs and is a less costly version of the SLIC-C.
I have now run these for the past seven days and am completely astounded by the huge hike in tonal quality and a soundstage that is broader and has more height and depth on suitable recordings. They are truly a giant step-up in my system. They sound uncannily good and have continued to improve since installation.
I am using my Lyra Dorian MC instead of my usual 2M Black MM. As some may know the Dorian cartridge can sound a bit toppy, as it does in my system, but with the Slic-P there is just a natural top end and vocals are really more intelligible. And bass? Deep and textured, even with difficult top-heavy bass lines. Another bonus is the lowering of the noise floor, LPs are really quiet and vinyl roar is reduced. A smooth sound but with no loss of impact or detail. I will be keeping these on a long-term basis. They have replaced Kimber PBJ cables.
Records I have played are Joan Armatrading (Joan Armatrading), Pete Moore Solid Rockin' Brass and Metallica Black Album along with Supertramp Crime of the Century.
I will put some pics of the SLIC-P when I find my camera battery charger.
