I’ve seen ‘The Shape of Water’ - very good - reminiscent of ‘City of Lost Children’ and ‘Delicatessen’.

For those who enjoy a good fantasy adventure/love story, which is visually stunning, beautifully shot and well-acted, together with a superb depiction of 1960s America (especially some of the stunning cars around - a true golden era in many respects), mixed with a soupçon of Russian espionage, it comes HIGHLY recommended

Rather odd looking film, that could almost be a Hellboy prequel, similar look and settings. The creature also looks a little like a character in Hellboy as well - Abe Sapien.

In away I would rather this had been a new Hellboy film.

I plan on seeing it at some point.

Hellboy is action adventure, very influenced by HP Lovecraft and the like, this film looks more Pans Labyrinth in its vibe - an excellent film.

Quite like Joaquin Phoenix, so I'll be seeing that next week too. Also looking forward to Lady Bird and Red Sparrow - busy week next week!

I went to see the Shape of Water with my wife last week at Bicester VUE, my wife wasn't too keen thought it was strange and baffling, but I loved it, especially the wonderful cinematography.

Also the turning the fifties monster movie concept around, where the real monster was a human.

We've gone on holiday by mistake !
