My passport picture, aged 16, way back in the 1970's.
Thankfully time has helped improve my haircut, if not my cheerful demeanour..

Ok, I'll bite. Here's me and my very much better looking other half. I leave it as an exercise to determine who is whom. Hint: I rarely wear earrings.

You look very distinguished there, Neil - like a proper Scottish laird!

All that's missing is a wee sheepdog by your side and a stick

Nice pics, keep 'em comin' folks.

P.S I love Brochs, too. We visited a few when we were in Orkney. If you haven't been there, that's one place you must go - you'd be in your element!

It was the closest one to where we were staying (Inverness) though we did go to Sky one day and there are a few there. But the best are on Orkney,Shetland or the very North of mainland Scotland.

Yup, Orkney is awesome for Brochs... In fact, it's awesome, full-stop, if you love beautiful scenery, fresh air and tranquillity, (count me in!) Life is also beautifully slow-paced and 'real', rather like it is in rural North Wales.

Orkney also has wonderful serenity and 'honesty' - a veritable land where time forgot, almost completely devoid of the ravages of commercialism, and totally divorced from the rat race of modern life. I love it.

Oh, and the seafood restaurants (and whisky) are to die for!
