Turntable: Heavily-modified Technics SL-1210MK5G [Mike New bearing/ETP platter/Paul Hynes SR7 PSU & reg mods]. Funk Firm APM Achromat/Nagaoka GL-601 Crystal Record Weight/Isonoe feet & boots/Ortofon RS-212D/Denon DL-103GL in Denon PCL-300 headshell with Funk Firm Houdini/Kondo SL-115 pure-silver cartridge leads.
Paul Hynes MC head amp/SR5 PSU. Also modded Lentek head amp/Denon AU-310 SUT.
Other Cartridges: Nippon Columbia (NOS 1987) Denon DL-103. USA-made Shure SC35C with NOS stylus. Goldring G820 with NOS stylus. Shure M55E with NOS stylus.

Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.
Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.

Sorry guys I ve been sidetracked
It is a lot of work to disassemble it with all the new PSUs, so I keep postponing it.
Within the week i am waiting for some new PCBs so I will work on it again

I know what you mean Dimmy, you sound like me and my bearing base plate. I just cant seen to find that space and quiet time to get the thing done. Not to mention I'm hoping to do a certain earthing mod at the same time once clear instruction / pics are made availableOriginally Posted by dimkasta

Alas, the mainboard of the 1200 Mk2 I have does not show C217. Here is the pic:
I'm sure Dimmy is right in that C217 would be visible from underneath. There seems plenty of space underneath to run a wire to the earth-point but that is now going to have to wait a week as I am lending this baby out.

Andrei I don t think C217 is there at all in older MK2s
Anyway, I quickly did a test today using a length of wire and two mini grabber hook clips to attach it.
There seems to be some slight change, making sound a bit sharper, but I cannot be sure since I am using a freshly soldered phono still burning in (not to mention that I am not very accustomed to its sound)
But with a pair of clips it should be a walk in the park to test without any fuss or commitment
