Tannoy Cheviots in Manchester. Need new cone surrounds or reconing and cabs need a polish. Could be a bargain for somebody.

Interesting Danish-Swiss fusion going on ... Beogram 3000 (I think the same designation got used on two other entirely different decks as well) using an undisguised TD124.

Got to be quite rare this I would think.

Very rare 10" Japanese speaker drive units, Coral 10L-60 bass drivers, superb quality and pretty sensitive.

I've owned a couple of pairs in the past and they are very, very good! The build quality is outstanding.

Yes, quite rare, especially as audiophiles had a tendency to buy them for the TD-124, often throwing the rest away! They did another version, which was supposedly the 'official' UK version, based around an Acoustical 3100 motor unit. I have one and it's rather good.

    Oh I like that!

    Is it an idler?

I do fancy picking up one of the early B&O machines, I have an SP1 cartridge (with, incredibly, a NOS stylus picked up in France in original packing) which sounds great, it's up there with the Shure M3D in my book as a great, beefy early stereo cartridge. I quite fancy one of the early small footprint B&O TTs for the study.

If your SP1 has the universal 1/2" fixing, you won't be able to use it in the B&O arm.

I know that, and the tip angle of the SP1 and SP2 (which doesn't have the mount, but fits the tonearm) is different to the later cartridges as well, but the aesthetic and indeed the performance has put me in the mood for one of the B&O turntables of the era.

The Acoustical motor unit is not an idler, but a very interesting belt drive. Powerful Papst motor and very lightweight platter made of what looks like some cardboard/resin composite.
