The Ravensbrook is a nice little amp. I had one in a second system driving a pair of AR4xa speakers and the pairing was excellent.

Why high risk? Jerry has one I believe, seemed very pleased with it. Douk Mal also sell them and have a reliable reputation.

I was reading it as a Linsley-Hood Class A design being badged as a Krell, which didn't get me off to a good start. I guess we all have different levels of risk. Still interesting though.

That's what it is. It comes with a variety of daft brand badges, but the amp itself looks decent enough. I've noticed that the main component parts are available separately and fairly cheaply, so at the moment, spares can be sourced.

There's a link to the mains transformer too.

Douk has an interesting site. Worth checking out his other items.

I was looking for a small amp for occasional use in another room. I might take the plunge on Douk in the new year (not sure I'd get away with it this week ).

    Cheers

I still swear by the Denon PMA-350 SE as a great back-up or second system amp. They are easy to find and sound quite remarkable for the money, reliable too. Typically around the £70 mark on ebay. There are a few happy users on AOS and I've owned a couple too. Sounded great driving my Tannoys.
