    Think that was an STA25 Al.

    The pre-amp is only wanted by collectors, and the tuner is of limited appeal.

    Would this be better than your standard decca gold in the red plastic mount? (Ive bought and sold one twice,didn't get along with it). Can you get an adapter to fit in an SME-type headshell?

    I'd rate the Mk.IV elliptical above the Mk.V Gold or any other colour. It's a 'bigger' sound.

    You don't need an adaptor. It has standard 1/2 inch spaced screw mounting. It's a fairly deep cartridge and would need longish bolts to mount.

    So this could go in a standard heavy head shell 30g-ish SPU sort of weight, in a high mass arm (I'm assuming low compliance)? Could be worth a shot
