I hope any prospective buyers do their homework.
    Inform the seller.

Nah. I used to tell sellers about this sort of thing years ago, but half the time they don't want to know, so I no longer bother. Let the buyer do their homework.

I also think they are wrong, however, manufacturers sometimes do odd things, The Lecson Lynette speakers were designed using Daleford bass units, however, as far as I know production generally used the KEF B200 SP1014. Recently, a friend got some Lynettes and replaced the B200s with Dalesford bass units and the improvement was quite apparent.

I understand that the owner of the Lynettes recently corresponded with the designer, Stan Curtis, who agreed that the Dalesford was much better for sound quality in this speaker.

Incidentally, the Lynette modified? (in fact back to original design) is a good speaker, friend is very pleased with them, he has many well know and respected speakers too.

Asking prices for Philips 9710M full range drivers going up in leaps and bounds!

Funny how everything I buy seems to shoot up in value. Can't all be down to luck. Maybe my judgement ain't too bad either.

On Gumtree. Linn index Mk.2 speakers and Denon mini system. Asking price £500. Crazy! I'd not give more than £60 for the speakers and £50 for the mini system. I'd not want that lot anyway, the Index speakers are pretty grim!
