I paid more for the 100MCS

To be fair, i weighed up how much a silver rewire would cost (KONDO SILVER FAIRY WIRE @ £275) if i purchased the Ebay one and including the upgraded Arm to Phono cable id want too. The MCS is silver wired and has VDH MCD 502 cable from stub to RCA @ £130 per meter with Eichmann plugs plus £480 for the arm so Total = £880 for the ebay one as i'd want it.

I paid £600 + Postage so i dont think i did too badly really!

Last year when I was looking for a tone arm if I had managed to get an Alphason 100MCS for under £500 it would have delighted me. Especially so when Ittok's go for north of £500

It seems the 100MCS goes for around £600 and the 100s go around £500

They are getting a bit rarer so theres always a premium.

    Seen an ittok for £700.

Not keen on Ittoks. Used one for a couple of years, but it's not for me. I had a Garrard 401 and swapped between the 774 and Ittok. The 774 sounded far better to me, especially when using Deccas, which did not like the Ittok one bit.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

The normal range for Ittok's from auction bids seems to be £500 - £600. I had one in the 90's on my LP12 and liked it but the ebay prices seem high relative to other options that may be better.

The Ittok LVIII is a nice arm but I still wouldn't pay the current prices, far better arms available for that sort of cash.

Well, I watched a fair few videos of tonearms on youtube and while you cant gauge the quality it does give a general feel of what might come. The Ittok seems very popular but has some well know flaws (not sure what but thats what the reading suggests) the OL arms at the higher prices are very well spoken of but generally a pain to set up (again from what I've read) so the Alphason is a bit of a simplistic arm, set up wise, which suits me. The Mission is a beautifully designed arm. I like its looks and its sound is better. The Alphason is coming in as an underdog in my eyes.
