They look like they could be interesting. Hard to see scale in the photos but I think they are quite large.

Current Lash Up:
TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.
No pics of drivers though so mid-bass could be shot esp if they are foam. Deffo worth a restore job from someone in any case.
Surprised to learn that Wigan has the internet now.

Are you kidding? Nearly £400 for a pair of E88CC valves?
I don't care how exclusively rare these may be. That price is nuts!!

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
The Telefunken ones aren't cheap. I think I have a couple dozen of them, but I'd never charge anywhere near that.
I have a box of old Mullards and Telefunkens and many others. When I sell any, I just bung them on ebay at a low starting price and see where the bidding goes. I just hate sellers with inflated ideas about how much they should get for their stuff. It's an increasing trend unfortunately.

I usually trade them for stuff. I don't like selling them. I won't even put those things in my own stuff. I'd get upset if one burned up.
I'll sell the ones that are more common, but I have tons of those. I'll give them another if one burns up.
Spotting that they were SS-70 i just had to have them for the TA-88 - ST-88
