It's the balance control that rather wrecks the aesthetics though...

Yes, but using it you might well accept it as it works so nicely.

I used one of these amp decades ago to drive my home built LS3/5a clones, later I tried it on my Quad ESL57's, it survived, apparently, quite a few amps don't.

£3343 for a broken cartridge! The Neumann DS-62 may be legendary (I have my doubts about all the hype attached to this design), but it is not worth that sort of money.

Probably bought by the idiot who paid £20,000 for a pair of Rogers LS3/5As.

I'm surprised - what did it sound like? Wasn't the Teleton only 6w/channel?

I used one (my father's) briefly to drive my home built Wharfdale speakers: a single RS8/DD driver in a 1.2cu ft distributed port cabinet.

The Teleton was fine in to the LS3/5a clones, did not use for long with he ESL57's, but sounded good too, did not push the amp for obvious reasons. Rated power was 6W per channel as you say, but it seemed quite a lot more.

Teleton in to Wharfedale 8RSDD would probably have been quite loud, I still have a pair of those.

I thought we had been here before!! In 2010:

    Well done Alex!

I was aware the Teleton amp had been discussed before and was going to look for the thread - you beat me to it!

(Would love to hear your Rogers 'Master' amp one day and compare it with your Radford STA25 Mk.III into Quad ESLs.)
