Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Some nice unused items here! I was tempted with the Heybrook TT2 but I must resist!

Yeah. That bath lift looks fantastic.

Seriously though, the TT2 appeals to me as well. It's the sort of thing I could well be temped to bid on, but I'd not fancy driving to Bradford to collect anything.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

I've asked how much a buy now price would be. He replied £300 or £750 with the quad 33 & 303. Not bad I suppose but I'm sticking to my NAS for now.

And here's the elusive 940. Not many of these made as there was not a lot of call for 162/3 capability

Not sure what the seller means when he says the deck is missing the platter. According to the photos both the main platter and the slip platter are there. Cosmetically it's not too good, but just needs a good clean.

I paid ~ £2K for mine; a late model complete with TSD15 sfl cartridge and new idler as well as a custom plinth and full set of leads (Siemens to XLR). It came from a seller in Hungary.

A UK dealer put up one of these for sale about 10 years ago (about the same time I bought my 930). From memory think he wanted quite a bit for it, but I don't remember if it included an arm and cartridge. Nor do I know what condition it was in.

As you say there is little call for 16 2/3 rpm. Were I to find any such recordings I suppose I could always play them on my Thorens TD 124.
