I don't dispute the balking at the price in general.

But this listing is by a dealer who sells them new at £800 and this is ex-dem, not priced up in anyway because it's used like you suggest. It's a discounted ex-dem item like all dealers do.

    And again....

It's a dealer selling one at 60% the rrp new price - nothing to do with hiking prices because it's used like you suggest.

Who would buy one in the first place though must have enough money that £4k is a few hours work - some lawyers do earn that much, in which case people should feel free to release them of that burden of wealth!

I met a guy who's neighbour is an audiophile lawyer who is divorced and works works works and spending £10k on a cable is his only "pleasure" in life - poor sod. Shame the guy I met wasn't into hifi - I'd be round there "borrowing" things and forgetting to return it.

    TAD HF drivers anyone?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-TAD40...-/301753591635

Price is good so far at £285 but they don't have the beryllium diaphragms which cost a lot, only ali ones by the look of it. 6 hours left.

Audio Technica AT-1005 II tonearm unused and boxed. Very nice and realistically priced at £199 considering the condition. The build quality and finish on these is beautiful and the bearings are superb!

I've owned two and they sound excellent with a rigid headshell fitted. Great with good MCs.

Not ebay but over on diyaudio.com, there's a DIY version of an EAR 859 for sale for €400 (about £290) + shipping from somewhere unknown in Europe

    http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/swap-...aravicini.html

I mean the old official Hifi News kit, rather than a clone.
