    I have a Goldring 1012gx spare - would that fit/suit the Walker/Linn Basik?

Would do more than tide you over I suspect.

Upgradeable very easily too with something like a Jelco 750-D (which is Linn fitting so should bolt right on) or an outboard PSU (Heed or somesuch). Cartridge will bolt straight on the headshell of that Linn arm and decent compliance match.

Seems good. Nag MP11 in there as well which is a nice cart. I remember the basic as being a good arm so it should be fine with the Goldring.

    Hi,

Thanks for the replies I'll give it some thought and will ask seller about postage as his description mentions £25 for packaging rather than £25 for total posting?

    Thanks,

    Mike.

Having said that if you have up to £1k I'd be tempted by this http://theartofsound.net/forum/showt...vely-condition

If you want to use the Goldring you'd get decent money back on the Denon.

    Au contraire.
It is the cheap PA type grilles which are the ne plus ultra in the marriage of technical chic with the finest aesthetic sensibilities, and no doubt wring the last drop of high fidelity from this enviable project.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
