Oh dear, it was for a LAD (London Acoustical Developments) GAJ828 Direct Drive turntable £30- Oswestry , in good order and sporting an Ortofon stylus , one of those curious long bent ones with a lever on its side(I forget the name)

I saw , it too , had a Jelco type arm on it

Discussed on another thread a while back

    Great stuff!!

It looked a good project , there you go , I only saw it after it had been on for a day .
I was chuckling to myself ,thinking of the vendor trying to ignore all the calls and messages I think he might have been getting !!!

Philips 9710M full range speaker drive units going for a song at the moment.

It's not unusual to see these fetch in the region of £200. For good reason, they sound amazing!
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

The one for sale may have been an earlier model , as the controls were in a more rectangular and simpler looking form , and the metal base had a bit of paint bubble on it!
    That one looks minty

Big. Their bass extension is not great, but they sound wonderful! Cabinets about the size of Tannoy Cheviots would probably be needed to get the best out of them. I have a pair in fairly big boxes and won't be parting with them any time soon.
