They were very popular in the late '60s, early '70s. Seemed as though everyone had one (except me)!

Nor did I. Wasn't really into tape. Had a couple of Sony's come my way, but didn't keep them.

I wasn't into tape then but did use friend's Akai 4000D and Tandberg 3000 machines. I thought the Tandberg was superior to the Akai.

A Ferrograph 632 two-track machine was acquired in the late '70s, which I did use to record off the radio, but when I discovered I could make equally good recordings on a Sony cassette machine more conveniently, the Ferrograph was 'retired'. I even got rid of a Revox G36 (bought from a work colleague for £25) and a Brenell tape deck, for which I was going to build my own electronics. Still have the Ferrograph but the idler wheels have perished and need replacing. I now use a Nagra IV-S to occasionally play back those tapes made on the Ferrrograph.

For only £14.99 posted, these interconnects are amazing. Beautifully built and they have easily seen off a pair costing over £300. They manage to claw out fine details without being splashy or harsh, plus the bass is full bodied and the mids are tonally neutral that I personally like.
