    From very different genres. Two 1980's bands who had been pretty mediocre but whose sheer ambition and vision led each to create an album which was bold, interesting and actually rather good:

    Was listening to 'into the pandemonium' the other day. Had all the Celtic Frost stuff on vinyl and even saw them live circa 1989. Avant garde Swiss metal, way ahead of their time.
