    'Pin Ups' is really just a selection of covers, and not really representative of his work during that period.

    I can heartily recommend Hunky Dory, but then I would say that... it's the Bowie I grew up with, so there will be a certain amount of nostalgia there. I have always owned it in one format or the other. Currently I just have an original early press and a pretty recent vinyl reissue.

    Some of the songs you will already be familiar with (Life on Mars, Changes, Oh! You Pretty Things), but it is so much more than that.

    I think I gave my CD copy to Macca a couple of years ago, otherwise you could have had that.

    My favourite Hawkwind album, although I like them all being a bit a of a Hawkfan having seen them 6 times over the past 50 years. Now where's my Bong and I'll set the controls for the next galaxy.

    Yeah, early Hawkwind was great. But I didn't buy their records as my mate was a massive fan, and if I wasn't at his house listening to them he was at mine and always brought them with him. I did however have Hall of the Mountain Grill, which I recently bought again.

    I also saw them 5 or 6 times in the 70s, with their Liquid Len and his Lensmen
