    Default 1210 dilemma.

Mmmm, what to do? Thinking of culling my tt's and not sure what to do. I have a 1210 with an RB250/Ortofon 2M blue on it. I have used an origin Live mounting plate and also changed the feet for better ones. I have a brand new OL Encounter i bought for my Lenco but wont fit. My dilemma is this, do i buy a new TT for the Encounter ot bolt the Encounter on the 1210. Suggestions please.

Steve I think you should keep the OL Encounter. I use a Silver3A and am over the moon with it so the Encounter should be even better. If you think I'm a little bit jealous you are absolutely wrong.............I'm very jealous.

Thanks chaps. My only concern is that i haven't updated the bearing or the power supply on the 1210.

You will still hear a big improvement. Hour's work at the most to find out.

Mount the Encounter to the Techie. It's going to blow away the RB250.

Do you still use the stock mat? I suggest changing it to something like an Acromat. I also wholeheartedly recommend Isonoes and a PSU of some sort. Do those three things and I guarantee that you will ultimately prefer the Technics to the Lenco.
SP-10Mk2a, Graham 2.2 tonearm. SL-1200, Graham 2.2 tonearm, AT-150mlx, Benz-Scheu Glider. Jim & Ken Super DC PSU, Oil well bearing, Acromat, Isonoes, strobe lamp switched. Pass Labs Pearl 2. Aleph J amplifier. F6 Amplifier. Nelson Pass Burning Amplifier BA-3. Pass BA-PP linestage, miniDSP 4x10, Linkwitz Labs LXmini speakers, Sony SS-M7 speakers.

DIY In progress - Syclotron Red Light district valve amp, ZenMod "Iron pre" autoformer jfet preamp, SYclotron 'His Master's Noise' valve phonostage. And about 2-3 other projects in various states at any time.

In my experience, the tonearm made the biggest difference.
Try it, if you like start thinking about the next mod. Externalise the PSU at the very least.
