Default Which components would you have in your ultimate 70's system?

Just for fun, if you could have an ultimate, money no object 70's system, which components would you choose?

I was thinking maybe some massive horn loaded JBL speakers, maybe some massive sansui monoblocks, maybe a Sanui 929 TT?

    For a start, probably:

    - Sony PS-X9 with XL-88
    - Yamaha C1/B1
    - Leak 3090

    Lecson AC1/AP3/FM1

    Gale GT2101

    Gale GS401a

Yes, OK, it's all about the looks, so which arm and cartridge? The SME that's usually shown on the Gale looks like a Ford V8 stuck in a Lamborghini, so something a bit more space-age is called for. Transcriptors, maybe? Not sure...

Can't think of a suitably wild-looking cartridge either. Any ideas?

    To bastardise a famous quote:
"I have the simplest of tastes......

    • 1 ML-1 preamplifier
    • 2 LNC-2 electronic crossover units and their PLS-151 power supplies
    • 6 ML-2 power amplifiers
    • 2 Hartley woofer units fitted into (4’ x 3’ x 2’) enclosures
    • 4 Quad speakers
    • 2 modified Decca ribbon speakers

"..........the source components would be negotiable!"

    From the front.

Decca C4E cartridge (or Ortofon SPU), Decca International arm (original, metal headshell), Garrard 401 TT (modern plinth/base), Rappaport Pre1, Luxman A-3600 power amp, Tannoy Corner Yorks (suitably updated).

Are we talking stuff that was manufactured in the 70'? as ive noticed people mentioning stuff made in the 60's!

However i don't really have any desire for flashy £££ gear. Just stuff i fancy the most from 70's i suppose which would really only be one thing..

    J.A.Michell 'Prisma' TT..

Wow, lots of interesting systems. I'm pondering putting a 70s system together and so far have come up with bugger all components
