Default Denon Pma 250 Se Phono!

Hi, i bought this denon to use with my turntable, i was told there was an mm phono board fitted however the sound from the tt is very very low, i want to establish if there is a fault or if there is a phono board actually fitted, i'm not sure what to do, could anyone describe where and what it is i should be looking for please.

All the old PMA250 versions had a phono stage so unless a previous owner has removed it (whcih would be bizarre) then yes it has one. In fact as you are getting sound out of your TT it must do. I take it you have tried increasing the volume on the amp? Phono will sound a lot queter than the line level inputs for the same pos on the volume scale.

Otherwise check out your catridge - is it fitted correctly, all connections tight etc?

If nothing wrong there could be a fault on the amp

It was an optional extra on the 250SE. Looking at the top right of your picture, you can see the plug in socket for a phono stage PCB... And its empty.
