Those triples were great if a little unreliable I seem to remember. I had a one of the GT500 twins in 80's. Terrific bike. And GS750 which I liked much less. Are you riding anything now Geoff?

No bike these days (getting a bit over the hill).

The GT550A was nowhere near as much fun as my restored & tuned Kwaka H1F 500 triple. Now that was nuts!

Haha, those things were nuts without any tuning! Oh well it looks as though you had fun with them.

Yup. I'm a pensioner now, but still got a serious hankering for an SV1000S (Should I? Should I? ).

Age. Uncertainty. A touch of skintness and an increasing awareness of mortality!

    (very tempting though)

Hmm. This is rather good. Video of some guy on the continent letting one loose. Hits 165mph rather quickly and holds a steady 120mph effortlessly.

Watch it on full screen with the sound up!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Umm.....looks fun but not on the open road for me. I have been on the receiving end of a careless car drivers front end twice in my life with many broken bones, and that was at 40ish mph. Goodness knows what I'd end up like at 160mph. Still think you should go and get one Geoff!
