Dave (MCRU) kindly sent me one of his "Yannis cables" to try (its the Gaia 423.5 phono-litz) with Eichman bullet phono plugs and a Furutech DIN.
I am liking this cable very much. There is more detail and clarity than the Jelco but (importantly) it doesn't change the "tone" of the music which is good because it's taken me ages to get that how I like it. Instruments sound more natural and imaging is tighter. There also seems to be less surface noise apparent (is this possible?).

Anyway, I'm keeping it as it really fits well with my system - just what the doctor ordered

    Aye, a nice cable.
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”
