    Default Your system pictures.

    Ok, I'll start.

This is my current system as at 21st January 2008 (although believe me, it changes with alarming frequency!). Basically it is two completely separate systems in the same room.

    2 Channel:

    Musical Fidelity A3.5 CD Player
Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 21 DAC (now sold - looking for a replacement)
Intact Audio Autoformer passive pre-amp with casing by me (see the DIY section)
    Audiolab 8000P power amp
Revel Performa M22 speakers on their dedicated stands
    Krystal Kables Avenger interconnects
    QED X-Tube 400 speaker cable

The speakers are sporting baffle covers to reduce first order baffle diffractions, a very worthwhile investment from diffractionbegone.com, check the website out and speak to Jim!

    On the AV side:

    Panasonic TH50PX70 50" plasma tv
    Sony PS3
    Marantz SR9600 DTS processor
    Polk RTA-8T front channels
    KEF Q9C centre channel
    Mission 700e rear channels

To be honest I'm more into the 2 channel side of things (odd that, being an administrator on a hi-fi website) but that's not to say I don't enjoy a thumping good movie soundtrack!

Great pics Rob. I like the setup. I had to tell you that I've got the M22's set up almost identically, 7 feet apart which I think is just a bit more than 2 meters. They're 40 cm off the back wall and toed in just slightly too. Like I said, almost identical. Hopefully pictures coming someday. I'm judging from the pictures that video and speakers don't need to be on the same plane. There's an LCD/Plasma in my future somewhere. Good luck.

Blimey mate! That's almost exactly as mine are, although mine are a little further from the rear walls, about 75cm roughly.

Video and speakers don't really have to be on the same plane, and neither do the speakers really (if one uses the time delay on a processor). To be honest the difference with the front channels on the same plain is hardly noticeable, it's not at all in fact.

The Revels certainly do like to be toed in slightly I have to say, really widens the already impressive imaging.

Have you looked at Jim's website yet Steve?

Hi there all - and thanks for the invite to join

Thought I might kick my membership off with a few photos of systems past and present ....

Here we have some Avantgarde Unos, driven by either a MF A3CR or a little valve 300B SET amp from Germany (about 4wpc!) ...

And here some Audiostatic DCI Wings - I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with stats - can't live with them, can't live without them!

And for a short (very short!) time, some Maggie smga's graced my system. Couldn't get on with these - I want higher rez! Yup - those are a pair of excellent vintage JBLs in the background!

Ah - my old Kharma Ceramique 3 speakers. Mmmmm, yummy. Kept these for an astonishing (for me) 2 years ....

And how could I posibly forget my Dali Skyline 1000 ribbon hybrids ....

And, bringing my self nearly up to date, my Thiel CS2.3 speakers with some short-lived Yammie NS1000M ... I couldn't get on with the Yammies. The Thiels are wonderful though.

And, finally, the current status - the Thiels are having a temporary and well-earned rest, and I am playing with a pair of vintage Rogers Export Monitors that I bought a couple of days back ....

    ____

Yup, I do enjoy getting different kit.

Hi Jerry, nice to see you matey!

Funny though, I thought you swapped your components fairly often.
