As do the Ortofon 2M's. The P6 deserves a 2M Black which is a stunner. The Black is fussy about set-up particularly VTA / Azimuth. I dont know how easy VTA is on the P6.

i know heavy day at work brain dead anyhow using a goldring 2200 mm cart at the moment possibly looking for a cart that would drag some more detail out someone recommended a dynavector 20x2 low output mc cart but partnered with an audionote step up transformer dont want the expense of buying a step up transformer

I find the Nagaoka MP 500 preferable to the 2M black ,but that's just me

    Taken from another forum:

The Nagaoka is luxurious and romantic sounding. It is rich in the midrange and throws a wide holographic soundstage. The Ortofon is more precise and clear sounding and not quite as euphoric. I hope that makes sense! They are both stellar trackers.

And to complicate things even more, another post from the same forum / thread:

I run a 2M Black on an SME V / Garrard 401, and a MP500 on a Jelco 12" / Lenco GL88. The 2MB is beautiful, full bass and very detailed. A little more analytical than the MP500. The MP500 sounds more 'coloured' and is a little warmer and sweeter. The 2MB impresses more, but I end up listening much more to the MP500. Very subjective impressions. Both do pretty well across my spectrum of music (Jazz, Soul, Rock, Classical, Hiphop, Punk). I also have a DL103R running on an SME 3012/Garrard 301 which I like best with acoustic music, Jazz, Soul and Classical.

I have the Black and it is Superb. It does holographic for sure, horns parp with depth and realism, intruments / vocals lifelike. Great separation of parts and very detailed presentation, balanced and precise - it's Shibata stylus is a gem (no pun intended) and digs very deep. Both the 500 and Black are flagships / top of the line so I'm not surprised they are both said to be very good

    I owned a rega p5 and found the dynavector 20 x 2 mc cart a great match.
