Different LP! How much did the platter set you back? Also, I am curious about the weight of the platter. In the meantime We have to play 'spot the difference' while you play 'hear the difference!'

I picked the Mk.1 platter up second hand for 50% cost of a new one. (£300).
Any difference is subtle, but there is a difference. IMHO, tThe biggest upgrade that you can do on a Technics is the arm.

Very good looking! I see you also have the DL-103R. Before you got the Jelco 750D, did you have the KAB Cardas/ Fluid Damper? If so, what difference in SQ did you notice?

Thanks, it doesn't look too bad considering I bought the deck itself in 1990!! I only had the stock arm before so I'm afraid I can't help with your question, but given just how much better than stock it sounds now, I'd bet it's a worthwhile improvement over the KAB too. However, I also took the opportunity to fit a Furutech ag-12 tonearm cable, and I haven't heard a rewired stock arm to compare. But having thought stock set up with the aid of the technics overhang gauge sounded pretty damn good, the improvement with the Jelco has surprised me
