The problem with black is dust! In terms of appearance, my preference was for a black Jelco arm, but I just couldn't be done with dusting it every other day (I don't use a lid).Yup, if I was going to do it, I'd have a complete new paint job done - maybe a plain piano black... Although I hate bling, I quite like a 'sheen' on the finish of T/T plinths, which is one of the reasons why I chose the MK5G

Yup, I agree. The best solution for me, which I do when I remember, is just place the lid on top, when the T/T is not in use, and then lift it off (rather than it being fixed to the hinges) when I want to use it.
Trouble is, 70% of the time I forget to do that!

i've considered 'de cluttering' the top plate of the techy, and different colours etc. decided to stick with the 'natural' appearance of the 1210 in the end.
only thing left to do is get a new armboard and some isonoes, then get it set up correctly for the first time! then spend the rest of my money on records

Will these fit the standard Technics platter?Lol - new mods to play with? Nah, I'm quite happy to forget tweaking now and just enjoy the music! My Techy is at the stage of 'job done'. I suspect you're more of a 'tinkerer' than I am
I thoroughly recommend the Nagaoka glass mat, if you can find one - just ekes out more music and sounds more natural than any other mat I've used.

The Jasmine LP2.5DU is a very good sounding phono stage, even the on MC. But Niels on our norwegian forum (Hifisentralen.no) was kind enough to lend me his Rothwell MCL 26db with Lundahl LL9226 transformers. Wow, the cart just came alive with air, dynamics, fast tight bass and 3D
