    Thanks Marco

I've been busy, here are a few more creations

For this one I cut down a wide pro audio unit and made a bespoke case so that it fits nicely with the customers other hifi gear.
The unit is for mono cartridge settings/adjustment.

Ebony armboards for the fantastic SL-1210 are popular! Here is one for the Micro Seiki MA-202 tonearm.
Note the very shallow dishing. This is esspecially for the deeper 'Mike' after market platter.

Here is a Audio Technica AT-1005mkII arm mounted on a birch ply armboard I have made. This has been stained and lacquered to match the SL-1210 plinth.

This arm originally had no armlift and the rest was fitted to the deck.
I have made a custom arm rest rod, fitted to the base, this solid 3mm rod is stable and secure - uses a Technics armrest clip.
(Please note - I did not make the armlift attachment - that was already on the arm)

Collected my new ebony armboard from the post office today (see middle two images post #72 above with hole drilled for armrest). All I can say is that it is gorgeous and looks even better in the flesh and stunning in situ on my Techie. This is my second ebony from Steve. I asked Steve to produce me a new one as I found I needed a little more height after installing the Mike New baseplate which raises the platter by 6mm. Steve dished the ebony by 3mm rather than the 8mm of my first armboard allowing my armbase / arm to sit just that bit higher as requested. The finish and attention to detail is excellent. Steve even provided small black nylon washers to sit as a cushion between the armboard securing screw heads and the ebony - nice !! For anyone who wants an armboard that is not just a big yes in terms of sonic naturalness but also an aesthetic thing of beauty then do not hesitate as Steves ebony / African wood armboards are quality and a complete no brainer. Yours genuinely, One very happy bunny

I have been toying with the idea of upgrading my Jelco 750D tonearm. I shortlisted SME M2-9, Wilson Benesch ACT 0.5, Origin Live Illustrious. Then I thought that AR, Dr Feikert, Electocompaniet, Luxman, Koetsu etc use or have used Jelco arms so I have gone another route. I have decided to upgrade the Jelco itself. Just yesterday I ordered an ebony armboard from Speedy Steve, and will add an ebony headshell (either Uwe or Yamamoto Sound) and this should provide a more organic sound - after all they make oboes and clarinets from ebony so surely its sonic signature is benign. (My other upgrades are Shuggies Improved collar, ordered today, and the Isokinetic counterweight.)

Ebony is popular. Here is a SME board fitting for a MkII

Here is Andrei's armboard Extra deep for the uprated Shuggie Jelco base. Fitting kit for SL-1210 MKV.
I'll include a cut down allen key for the armbase as room is limited for a standard length one due to the depth...

Some interesting arm rewire and armtube creation projects up next.
