It is 1mm in thickness and almost rubbery to the touch although it has some characteristics of felt. I should know what this is but it appears to have fallen out of my head, not hard these days

I haven't identified it Guy. I did have another mat for sale though, a Herbies item, perhaps that is where you are getting confused? This is a different mat entirely, I just need to know who makes it and what it is called for the title of the sales thread. I have a couple of leads which I will be pursuing in a wee while

    Hi, Dave!

At first sight it looks a Rega or Linn mat but those aren't usually that thin...
If memory serves, the only mat I had so thin, was the original one on the first version of the Pro-Ject RPM1 Genie (gone some time ago).

    Good luck, cheers, JPB

After some research this mat appears to be a copy of the Origin Live Upgrade mat (yup, that really is its moniker). I know nothing about the OL item but at least I am heading in the right direction...
